Can I show visitors the outside of a house during an Open House Broadcast?
Yes, with some exceptions. Typically, you will be able to show your visitors what the house looks like from the outside when conducting an Open House Broadcast. There are a few limiting factors, however. Connection speed over a wireless network decreases as range increases. If the house you are showing is very large or your router is not placed in a central location, you may find that your signal is too weak to continue broadcasting as you move further away from the router. We recommend that you utilize Wireless-N routers for the added data transfer speed and improved range so that you can take your viewers to any part of the property that they would like to see.Additionally, the webcam that you utilize will have an impact on whether you can show your viewers the outside of the house. If you are using a low quality webcam that does not automatically adjust for changes in lighting, you will still be able to take your viewers outside of the house, but their display will be too bright for them to see anything. We recommend that you use a high quality webcam, such as a Logitech or Creative Labs webcam with "Right Light" or "Live! View" technology to ensure you get the best picture during your Open House Broadcast.
Do I still have to advertise my Open Houses when I conduct them on this site?
Yes, we recommend that you do. In order to ensure that people actually attend your Open House Broadcast, it is advisable to continue advertising them. Keep in mind that unlike traditional Open Houses that have to be attended physically, an Open House Broadcast takes place entirely over the internet. To take advantage of this, every Property Description Page is given a unique URL. You could easily post a free advertisement on a site like Craigslist.org and include that unique URL. After seeing your advertisement on the internet, a prospective buyer could be watching your Open House Broadcast in only 2 clicks!
Why aren't there any Open House Broadcasts in my area?
OpenHouseBroadcast.com has just launched, so it may take a while before the word spreads to every city. However, it is quite easy for an Agent or FSBO to get up and running on this site; so if you would really like to see some more Open House Broadcasts in a particular area, start spreading the word! Tell friends and family; tell some real estate agents. If you know some FSBOs, tell them too. The more people in the area that know about this site, the more Open House Broadcasts you will see.
What if an Open House Broadcast happens too late for my time zone?
If your time zone will not permit you to attend the Open House Broadcast you have a few options. First, and easiest, if the Open House Broadcast was recorded, you will be able to simply watch that. You will not have the direct interaction that comes with attending an Open House Broadcast while it is live, but you will get to see the house. Second, you can contact the Agent or FSBO who is hosting the Open House Broadcast and request a private tour at a time that works for you.
